MORENCI — The Morenci Downtown Development Authority invites the community to break out the neon, tease up their hair, and head downtown for the next Summer Block Party Concert on Friday, July 10, from 6 to 11 p.m.
This month’s theme is ’80s Night, featuring live music, food, costume contests, beer tents, and a fun summer evening in downtown Morenci.

ADRIAN — Southern Michigan is full of little-known architectural treasures. Spotlighting those treasures was local author Paul Plassman’s goal when he published “Southern Michigan’s Castles, Churches and Courthouses,” a 400-page book profiling many of the region’s most beautiful and significant pieces of architecture.
Plassman, a native of Medina Township, will be the guest speaker for the October installment of the Weber Retreat and Conference Center’s “Lunch and Learn” series. He will discuss some of the amazing but often overlooked treasures that can be found throughout the towns and countrysides of southern Michigan.

FAYETTE, Ohio — A wide range of programming, from country and gospel music to silent films to a reed organ concert, is on tap for the Fayette Opera House’s upcoming events.
“We try to keep it family friendly and entertaining,” Tina Snider, the opera house’s programming director, said. “I just try to keep a variety of things coming in here.”

This year’s event is larger than before, stretching across all of Main Street from Summit to Baker, and along North Street from Main to Locust.
The free autumn celebration takes place on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 4-11 p.m.
